What fence is cheapest to install?
For most yards here, chain link is the lowest-cost installed option. If you only need to mark a property line on acreage in Montgomery County or more rural settings, a ranch or split-rail fence in pressure-treated pine is also an affordable option. Cedar privacy is the common mid-range choice in The Woodlands, Spring, and North Houston subdivisions. The cheapest material is not always the cheapest job: tear-out, slope, and gates move the overall price.
How much does it cost to put a fence around a property?
It depends on length, height, material, gates, tear-out, and whether you are in an HOA. We do offer guidance on our Pricing page to help you get an idea.
Do I need a permit to build a fence around my house?
Usually not, as long as you stay under 8’ in height. There are some municipalities, such as The Woodlands Township, that have more restrictive requirements that we can work within and help you apply for any permits and variances.
Do you handle permitting?
Yes. We handle the permit as needed, HOA/ARC packets when the neighborhood requires them, inspections that go with the permit, and Texas 811 locates before we dig. In many cases, you’ll still have to submit the application as the homeowner, but we make sure you are equipped to do so!
