About Conroe

Conroe is the county seat of Montgomery County and sits on I-45 about 40 miles north of downtown Houston, with Lake Conroe just northwest of downtown. It’s also one of the fastest-growing cities in the country: the Census Bureau named it the fastest-growing large U.S. city between 2015 and 2016, and U-Haul’s growth index ranked it Houston’s top-growth suburb again in 2025. The city has annexed heavily to keep up, expanding from about 53 square miles in 2007 to roughly 78 square miles today, with a lot of that new growth pushing out along the Highway 242 corridor toward Artavia and Grand Central Park.

Where We Actually Work

We install and repair fencing all around Conroe: the older in-town lots downtown and on the east side, where you’ll find established neighborhoods like Mackenzie Creek and Barton Creek Ranch, out through the Highway 242 growth corridor anchored by Artavia and River Plantation, over to Grand Central Park and the lake-adjacent side of town near Water Crest on Lake Conroe and Hills of Westlake, and out to the more rural, acreage-style pockets around Sweetwater Ridge, Caney Mills, Spring Branch Crossing, and Crockett Reserve. Downtown and the older east-side streets are mostly standalone lots without an HOA, which is normal for that part of town, not an oversight. Yard Type & Rules

Conroe is a mix of older in-city lots downtown and on the east side, and newer planned communities like Grand Central Park with their own HOA design guidelines. Some lake-adjacent lots also have drainage or wet-lot issues worth planning around before you pick a fence.

Conroe gets heavy rain and occasional tropical storm wind, and low-lying or lake-adjacent yards can hold water. That affects how we set posts, and it affects which materials hold up: wood posts can rot faster at grade in consistently wet spots, and steel or iron needs a solid coating to avoid rust in our humidity.
